NDSU is an affiliate member with the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) that offers degree-seeking, full students the opportunity to participate in ice hockey, while still getting the education that is important to their future. Here is the general overview of the program.
NDSU Women’s Hockey is known for its competitiveness and success in the ACHA. Most of the players have been playing for the majority of their lives. While recognized as a club in financial and social standings; ice hockey competes above the club's expectations. Being a part of this team takes commitment, but it is also a commitment that you won’t regret making. NDSU Women’s Hockey is a place where you can not only play the sport you love but also make lifelong friends and be a part a of successful and loving Bison family. Over the course of the season, NDSU plays around 20 games against other teams in the ACHA. The seasons run through fall and spring terms and the National Championships take place in early March. This year’s 2026 National Tournament will take place in St.Louis, MO. The NDSU Women’s Hockey team has participated in the national tournament for 8 seasons, taking 3rd in 2014, winning the National Championship in 2015, and placing 2nd in 2017.
